Be wary of scams to work at home
With the holidays approaching, many consumers are looking for supplemental income. And for many of these consumers, work-at-home companies sound like an ideal option, says the Better Business Bureau.
But beware. The BBB of Northern Indiana has received numerous calls from consumers stating they either have been contacting work-at-home companies that advertise in the paper or have been receiving information about these opportunities in the mail.
And some of these companies will prey on people who want to make quick money or work from the convenience of their homes, the BBB said. It can be especially appealing to stay-at-home moms or senior citizens, said Dreama Jensen, area director for the BBB of Northern Indiana.
